Etsy Shop Updated

Decorating on a Budget

I needed some 'art work' for my apartment on the cheap. So I created these two fabric covered canvases. These are 16X20 artists flat canvases. I attached the fabric using super sticky double sided tape. The fabric was from my stash and coordinated with the colors in my bedroom.

I also made another piece using a dimensional canvas, for this piece I used tacks to affix the fabric.

Christmas Cards

Okay, I know, we are all DONE with Christmas, but I couldn't resist posting my christmas cards cause they are so cute (I know, I'm so modest). And since we are being honest here, these are actually my cards from last year. But, as I said, they are so cute!

I used matchbook cards from PaperSource and scanned in and printed out this great vintage picture for the front of my cards.

Scrapbooking on a Budget

I love all the great scrapbook supplies out there and am guilty of "having to have" specific papers, embellishments, albums. But I also like the challenge of taking something inexpensive and making it look 'expensive' and unique.

This album is a project I made for my cousin and her 'new' husband for their 1st year wedding anniversary. This album is one from the dollar spot at Target. Every so often they have a few and I pick up the ones I think I can use with my collection of papers. To dress this one up I removed the ribbon that came with the album and replaced it with thread and buttons from my stash that perfectly accented the album.

Home Sweet Home ATC

A few Home Sweet Home ATCs I made for a swap. The backgrounds were made using my favorite new technique. Mesh sponges used for the shower like these are a great way to apply acrylic paints to use as a background. I usually choose 2-3 colors in the same color family (these use beige, tan, and brown). Different color combination can be used, but I like the subtler look of using the same color family. I apply the darkest color first and let dry between applications. When I make them I usually make several backgrounds at once--as it is a bit messy. The picture is of a house that I love in Stillwater, MN, which I changed to a sepia tone.
